Coming soon Image Check: a one-click AI check on any image you see online

Was this made by AI?
Check it on your own device.

Paste text or drop in an image. TinyDetect runs in your browser, so whatever you check stays on your computer.

Free, no sign-up. AI-generated text isn't inherently bad. What matters is whether it's accurate, useful and honest about how it was made. A detector score can't tell you that or prove who wrote it.

Why TinyDetect

Detection that doesn't need
your data.

Uploading student essays, job applications, client documents or private photos to a detector may not be an option. TinyDetect checks them locally in your browser.

01

Stays on your device

The detector downloads once and runs in your browser. Nothing you check is uploaded or stored by us.

02

Text and images

One place to check essays, emails and articles, and photos, artwork and profile pictures.

03

Models cached on your device

Your browser caches the model files for later visits. Speed depends on your device. Once a detector has loaded, you can use it offline while the tab stays open.

Writing receipts

A planned, opt-in record of writing sessions and edits, stored on your device. Share it to give context about your process, not as proof that no AI was used.

SDK for platforms

A planned SDK for adding checks to your app, marketplace or community. The goal is to run in users' browsers or on your own servers without sending content to a third-party detector.

Use cases

Built for people who
can't send content to the cloud.

Local checks avoid uploading content to a detector. Your organisation's privacy and usage policies still apply.

Teachers and schools

Discuss writing and AI use with students without uploading their work. A score isn't evidence of misconduct.

Recruiters

Review writing samples locally. Judge candidates on their skills and the work itself, not a detector score.

Editors and publishers

Screen pitches, submissions and reader photos before they run.

Trust and safety

Flag profile photos, listings and reviews for a closer look. AI use alone doesn't make them fraudulent.

Legal and compliance

Review sensitive documents locally. After loading the detector, checks can run in the open tab without an internet connection.

Everyone else

Check the viral photo, the too-good listing or the suspicious message before you share it or reply.

Private by design

Your content never
reaches our servers.

We don't run servers that see what you check. The detector is a file your browser downloads, like a font or an image.

  • No content uploads. Text and images are processed in the browser tab. The page downloads models, runtime files and Google Fonts.
  • No account. Nothing to sign up for to use the web checker.
  • Offline checks in an open tab. Load the detector you need before disconnecting. Reopening the page still needs a connection.

FAQ

Questions

Is my text or image uploaded anywhere?

No. The detector runs inside your browser tab. Your text and images are read on your computer and are not sent to us or anyone else.

Why does the first check take a while?

The browser downloads the model files and prepares the detector. It caches those files for later visits, but still needs to load the model into memory when you reopen the page. Speed depends on your device. Offline checks work in an open tab after the detector you need has loaded; reopening the page needs a connection.

Is AI-generated text a bad thing?

No. AI can help with drafts, translation and editing. What matters is the quality of the work and whether its use is disclosed when the context calls for it. A detector can't judge accuracy, effort or intent, and a high score isn't proof of deception.

Can I rely on the result?

No AI detector is right every time. Very short text, heavily edited writing, screenshots and cropped images are harder to judge. Treat a high score as a reason to look closer or ask questions, not as proof, especially when someone's grade or job depends on it.

Which AI tools can it spot?

The text detector learned from writing by many chatbots, including ChatGPT, Llama and Gemma, and we test it on newer ones such as Claude. The image detector learned from pictures made by thousands of image generators, and we test it on Midjourney, DALL·E 3 and Flux.

Does it work on my phone?

It may, depending on your browser and available memory. The models can be demanding on phones; try a laptop or desktop if loading fails or checks are slow.

Can my school or company use it?

The public web checker is free to try. Self-hosting and reuse are subject to the code licence and separate model licences. Team installs, add-ons and a commercially licensed SDK are planned.
